Taveuni Insider Day trip including Bouma Waterfalls is a full day trip from The Remote Resort Fiji Islands departing approx 8am and returning approximately 4-5pm. This tour includes the Bouma Waterfalls, Natural Waterslide, Markets and more.

Snorkel with the Manta Rays just between Kioa and Rabi islands, a breathtaking experience. This experience is seasonal (generally from May to October). The Manta Ray snorkel tour takes off from the resort in a high-speed boat, traveling about 35 minutes north towards the top of Kioa Islands. Between the islands of Kioa and Rabi, the current is strong allowing the manta rays to feed on plenty of plankton. The boat captain and snorkel guide will work together to determine the best spot to drop into the water to view the manta rays as they pass by feeding on plankton. We'll pack towels and bottled water for you, just grab your snorkel gear and meet us at the jetty.

One of our favorite snorkel spots is called Black Magic and right at the base of Kioa island (just 10 minutes by boat) and features hundreds of blue starfish, large clams, as well as rarely seen black coral. From there the boat will take you a further 15 minutes to another spot called Liz’s beach with a nice hard coral reef off shore. Approx 2.5 hours.

The Remote Resort Coconut and Pina Colada Show. Every Friday evening join the team for a demonstration dedicated to the coconut. Enjoy a complimentary Pina Colada made from scratch with pineapples and coconuts from the resort garden.

Kayaks and Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boards are available for guest use at any time. Slide the kayak or SUP off the jetty and take a leisurely cruise to one of the neighbouring bays.

We have a number of island beaches perfect for a castaway beach picnic in the Rainbow Reef region. Order your picnic lunch and we’ll pack it into an esky and drop you on a beach to enjoy lunch and a swim. We’ll return to pick you up around 2.5 hours later. We’ll choose the best beach for the conditions on the day.

Right off the beach in front of the resort you’ll find the Nukuni reef. There is an abundance of unique Fiji marine life including hundreds of tropical fish and varieties of coral stretching from one end of the resort to the other (approximately 500 metres). Our team will guide you on a snorkel tour from the jetty to explore the Fiji world beneath the waves. We have a range of snorkel gear available for your use but if you have your own favorites we recommend bringing them. Snorkeling on the house reef is best two hours before or after high tide.

Take a short boat ride (15 mins) to a remote Fijian village for a glimpse of life without power but with an amazing community spirit. The residents of Vunikura village only see international visitors when we come to visit and they simply love welcoming you to their home. They will display traditional Fijian song and dance (Meke) and invite you to join in so don’t be shy. You’ll also have a short tour of the village to give you a glimpse into true island life without any modern conveniences yet everything you need.
