The Rainbow Reef, discovered by Jacques Cousteau and now known as the soft coral capital of the world, is less than 10 minutes from The Remote Resort, Fiji Islands. Why is the diving on the Rainbow Reef so good? Fair question. The Rainbow Reef is located in the Somosomo Strait between the islands of Vanua Levu and Taveuni. The ocean currents passing through the strait bring rich nutrients. This is the reason why the coral and the marine life in this area is so spectacular.
